Tempting Death

When dream-light fades

It means you’re waking up

Sometimes dark-lit images appear

Of curious form

Then daylight’s glare erases less real things

They say that life’s a dream

And dying is awakening—

And some have tempted death

To see if it is true.

How much dying does it take to see?
